Under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has opened scholarship applications for outstanding high school students. These scholarships are for the 2025-2026 academic year at the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah. Students who meet the required conditions can apply online through SEWA’s official website between June 23 and July 31, 2025.

Amna Al Owais, Director of the Scholarship Programme at SEWA, said that the authority is committed to supporting the education of young people in Sharjah. She explained that these scholarships aim to give bright students the chance to pursue higher education in fields that match the needs of the job market while also helping families by easing the financial burden. This initiative is part of SEWA’s broader vision to create a skilled and knowledge-based society.

To be eligible, applicants must be citizens with a Sharjah registration certificate, or children of female citizens who hold the certificate, or children of imams and muezzins under the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs. They must also have graduated high school in the current academic year with at least an 85 per cent GPA and must be accepted into the University of Sharjah or the American University of Sharjah.

Students interested in applying should visit SEWA’s website to read the full list of requirements and gather the necessary documents. All applications and documents must be submitted online before the deadline.
