The Crown Prince praised the team for winning the Best Project in Digital Technology Transformation Award at the 2025 International Best Practices Award in New Zealand.

International Recognition

The service also won third place in the “Seoul Smart City Award” in the Human-Centered category during Seoul Smart Living Week in South Korea. The Crown Prince highlighted that such achievements reflect Sharjah government’s commitment to providing the best services to citizens and residents while improving quality of life.

Innovation in Bereavement Services

“Mouwasat” reengineered procedures related to death cases, reducing the administrative, financial, and psychological burdens on families. The Crown Prince encouraged continuous improvements and stronger integration between government agencies to ensure efficient and high-quality services for all residents.

Digital Transformation Efforts

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Digital Authority, explained how electronic linking between federal and local entities has enabled timely service delivery. The Crown Prince reviewed updates to the Sharjah Customer Experience Improvement Programme, which focuses on human-centred services and customer satisfaction.

Team Contributions and Achievements

The team members worked on documenting procedures, conducting interviews, and finding faster alternatives while considering the feelings of grieving families. They also collected feedback from families to improve services further. The service now involves 14 federal, local, and private entities working together digitally to simplify procedures.

Positive Outcomes and Customer Satisfaction

The “Mouwasat” service has achieved a 98.5% customer satisfaction rate, completing 727 transactions across Sharjah. The Crown Prince praised proactive initiatives like studying each family’s case, communicating with relatives, and reducing service delivery times. He encouraged other government teams to follow these international best practices to enhance institutional work and community wellbeing.
