Festival as a Creative Platform

Organized by the FANN Media Discovery Platform, the festival provides a creative space for filmmakers and artists to collaborate and showcase their work. It aims to promote cultural exchange, support emerging talents, and highlight the diversity of cinematic and artistic expression in the region and internationally.

Lifetime Achievement Awards

During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Sultan honored several artists with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Emirati actor Abdullah Saleh and Saudi actor Abdul Mohsen Al Nemer were recognized at the UAE and Gulf level for their contributions to drama, theater, and cinema. Middle Eastern actor Abed Fahd also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his distinguished career and impact on regional arts.

The Gulf-level Youth Award was given to actor Hala Al Turk for her exceptional performances and dedication to cultural enrichment.

Special Recognition Awards

In addition to lifetime and youth awards, Basil Khayat received a special award in recognition of his efforts to enrich the Arab art scene with distinguished works. These awards highlight the festival’s commitment to honoring artistic achievements and fostering creativity in the region.

Festival Highlights and Activities

The Sharjah International Film Festival features screenings, workshops, and interactive sessions with industry professionals. It serves as a hub for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and collaboration, helping both established and emerging artists gain international recognition.

Promoting Regional and Global Arts

The festival reinforces Sharjah’s position as a cultural and artistic hub in the UAE and the wider Middle East. By celebrating the achievements of actors, filmmakers, and artists, it encourages creativity, innovation, and the growth of the regional cinema and arts industry.

The opening ceremony marked a successful start to the festival, blending recognition of artistic excellence with opportunities for networking and learning. The event highlights Sharjah’s continued commitment to supporting culture, cinema, and the arts while inspiring future generations of creators.
