H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, has received a copy of the book "Emirate of Abu Dhabi: A Guide to Geographical Sites & Places". The publication is a comprehensive geographical and historical reference prepared by Emirati author and researcher Ali Ahmed Al Kindi Al Marar.
The book was presented during a meeting held at the majlis of Mohammed Al Falahi Al Yasi in Al Mirfa City. During the meeting, Ali Ahmed Al Kindi Al Marar explained the scope of the publication, highlighting its detailed documentation of locations throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Guide Covers Regions, Natural Landmarks and Historical Locations
The reference work includes information on the names of regions, cities, towns and villages across Abu Dhabi. It also documents water resources, palm groves, forests, ghaf trees, sand dunes, sabkhas, plains, mountains, sand hills, valleys and many other geographical features. Each location is presented together with its historical importance.
Nearly 13 Years of Research Behind Four-Volume Publication
The guide consists of four volumes and records a total of 3,259 geographical locations across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The project is the result of nearly 13 years of field research carried out by the author.

To compile the work, the researcher relied on maps, historical documents, geographical and historical publications, newspapers, official reports, academic studies and oral accounts collected from senior Emirati men and women.
