Abu Dhabi Expands Community Services to Enhance Citizens’ Life

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, reaffirmed the leadership’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Emirati families. He emphasized the government’s dedication to strengthening social cohesion and ensuring citizens’ wellbeing remains a central priority.

Approval of AED42 Billion Expansion

At a recent Executive Council meeting, Sheikh Khaled approved an AED42 billion expansion of the Liveability Strategy. The funding will deliver new projects aimed at enhancing essential facilities, improving residential infrastructure, and raising service standards across neighborhoods in the emirate.

Review of First Phase Achievements

The first phase of the strategy, supervised by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, achieved an 81 percent integration of residential neighborhoods in 2025, up from 67 percent in 2023. Key successes included over 60 projects worth AED12 billion, with more than 200 parks and sports courts, 24 schools, 21 mosques, and 28 community majlises completed.

Infrastructure Developments Across the City

Significant infrastructure improvements were also implemented, including 120 kilometres of walking paths, 283 cycling tracks, 220 kilometres of street lighting, and 200 beautification projects. These initiatives have enhanced accessibility, safety, and aesthetic appeal in residential areas.

Integration of AI in Government Services

Sheikh Khaled reviewed efforts by the Department of Government Enablement to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into government operations. AI solutions are being used to boost efficiency, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality of community services for citizens and residents.

Abu Dhabi Digital Strategy 2025-2027

Updates were provided on the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, which aims to make the emirate the world’s top-ranked AI-powered government by 2027. The strategy is supported by AED13 billion in investment and focuses on embedding AI in decision-making and public service delivery.

Launch of TAMM 4.0 Digital Platform

Preparations for TAMM 4.0 were also highlighted. The upgraded platform will enable smart, interconnected, and AI-driven services, proactively addressing the needs of individuals and businesses while promoting a seamless digital government experience.

AI Majalis and Workforce Upskilling

Community initiatives, such as AI Majalis, aim to create open spaces for dialogue and promote responsible AI use. Over 95 percent of Abu Dhabi Government employees have completed AI training to prepare for an AI-driven future. New Chief Digital and AI Officer roles will be established across government entities to drive AI adoption and innovation.

Emphasis on Efficiency and Productivity

Sheikh Khaled stressed the importance of using advanced technologies and AI solutions to enhance government productivity and efficiency. These efforts are designed to contribute directly to improving the quality of life for citizens and residents across Abu Dhabi.

Ongoing Residential Projects

The meeting also reviewed ongoing residential infrastructure projects. Sheikh Khaled directed the acceleration of these initiatives to further enhance community services and ensure timely delivery of high-quality facilities in neighborhoods throughout the emirate.

Commitment to Long-Term Development

The AED42 billion expansion reflects Abu Dhabi’s long-term commitment to sustainable development, advanced technology integration, and continuous improvement of living standards. These measures aim to strengthen social cohesion, foster innovation, and ensure that residents enjoy world-class amenities and services.
