His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, recently visited the UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC) to review the latest efforts being made to protect the country’s digital space.

During his visit, Sheikh Mansour was briefed on the progress of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which is based on five key areas: strong leadership, protection, innovation, development, and partnerships.

The strategy aims to use advanced technologies to boost cybersecurity awareness, update legal rules, and train talented professionals who can lead the UAE’s cybersecurity efforts globally. It also highlights the importance of working closely with private companies and strengthening international partnerships to tackle cyber threats that cross borders.

Sheikh Mansour said that cybersecurity is essential for keeping the UAE's economy and society stable, especially as the world becomes more digital. He also stressed the country’s dedication to using the best global practices and working with others around the world to build a safe and secure digital environment.

He praised the Cybersecurity Council’s role in protecting the nation’s digital systems, noting that their work has helped the UAE achieve a top global ranking in the Global Cybersecurity Index by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Sheikh Mansour also mentioned that as the UAE continues to launch major projects focused on artificial intelligence and digital development, protecting the digital space through systems like the National Security Operations Centre (NSOC) is more important than ever.

He added that all these efforts help protect digital investments and support the growth of a strong, knowledge-driven economy focused on innovation.

Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, spoke on how systems like the NSOC are important to protecting the country's digital infrastructure and economy from rising cyber threats. He added that fast and proactive responses to such threats are essential.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti further stressed that the UAE's commitment extends beyond simply preserving technology to the development of a secure digital landscape in which society and the economy may flourish.

He said the National Cybersecurity Strategy gives all partners a clear framework to work together and protect the country’s digital progress. It shows the UAE’s strong focus on using digital tools for good, while also managing the risks they bring.

Finally, Dr. Al Kuwaiti pointed out that by learning from both local and international experiences, the UAE continues to lead in cybersecurity—and this is proven by its number one ranking in the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index.
