His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, has assessed the status of the AED500 million Al Mamzar Beaches initiative, which is integrated into the broader AED3 billion development plan for Dubai's beaches.
Accompanied by prominent members of the royal family, such as Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, as well as key Dubai officials, the Sheikh emphasized the project's role in positioning Dubai as the world's premier city by 2040.
He noted that the overarching Dubai Beaches plan aims to elevate beach capacity by 170% for both tourists and residents.
Spanning approximately 4 million square feet, the Al Mamzar Beaches project aims to attract up to 7 million annual visitors upon its completion.
According to Dubai Municipality, the initiative will include 35 state-of-the-art facilities designed to meet global standards, prioritizing accessibility for people of determination.
A standout feature will be the world's first 24/7 women-only beach, affording a safe environment for night swimming.
Additionally, the project will introduce a floating walkway at Al Mamzar Lagoon, marking it as a regional first, alongside a waterfront dining venue and several recreational zones.
With over 5.5 kilometers of trails for walking, running, and cycling, the project will create a holistic beachfront living experience unifying Al Mamzar Lagoon, the corniche, and Al Mamzar Beach Park.
Smart city technologies will play a critical role in enhancing safety, emergency responses, and operational effectiveness at the beaches, utilizing AI and IoT.
Covering 2.75 million square feet, Al Mamzar Lagoon Beach will offer a 300-meter dedicated night swimming zone, sports facilities, water activities, and shaded seating. Meanwhile, the Al Mamzar Corniche will extend over 1.25 million square feet, featuring exclusive women’s beach areas, artistic pathways, and event spaces.
Dubai Municipality is also exploring investment ventures in retail, dining, and leisure services to encourage private engagement.
Around 350,000 cubic meters of sand have been deployed to strengthen the shoreline and enhance environmental safety.
Officials indicated that this initiative is a vital component of Dubai’s long-term objectives, aimed at improving life quality, fostering tourism, and establishing top-notch sustainable coastal attractions.
Once completed, the Al Mamzar Beaches project is poised to become a leading family-oriented seaside destination in Dubai.
