Sheikha Shamma Unveils Children's Book on Safety at Abu Dhabi Library

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Abu Dhabi Children's Library was graced by the presence of Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, who read her new children's book, WHOOSH! A Story About the Sounds of Safety, as part of the UAE's inspiring initiative, "We Will Emerge Stronger."

Designed to assist children in navigating unfamiliar sounds that might evoke confusion or fear, WHOOSH! presents a heartening narrative about how families unite in challenging times and the role of individuals and communities in ensuring safety.

During the reading, Sheikha Shamma engaged directly with children and their families, emphasizing the necessity for open dialogue and reassurance when confronting new experiences. The session encouraged parents and children to share meaningful discussions, promoting confidence and a sense of security.

Reflecting on the initiative, Sheikha Shamma stated that "We Will Emerge Stronger" uplifts communities by instilling hope and fortitude, while looking towards a brighter future. She highlighted the critical role of the younger generation in shaping societal success and expressed her hope that WHOOSH! would facilitate reflection, open communication, and a feeling of safety within families.

WHOOSH! provides a gentle, age-appropriate framework for addressing difficult topics, fostering a supportive environment for children to discuss uncertainties while affording them clarity and comfort when they need it the most.

With WHOOSH!, Sheikha Shamma seeks to enhance children's emotional well-being and fortify familial communication, embodying the core values of unity, resilience, and community care that the UAE's "We Will Emerge Stronger" initiative champions.
