The company has requested a substantial capacity of 600 gigabits per second for its Gen 1 satellite constellation in India. Officials indicate that this capacity is conditionally allocated to verify compliance with national security standards.
Security Protocols and Examination
Due to the sensitive nature of satellite communications, the Indian government has enacted rigorous rules. Starlink has received provisional authorizations to test its systems using specific radio frequencies and to bring in 100 satellite terminals for non-commercial pilot projects.
