During an official visit to Haikou, Maninder Sidhu met with He Lifeng to discuss vital economic relations between Canada and China. This meeting was held on the sidelines of the China International Consumer Products Expo, a significant event for global trade enhancement.

Minister Sidhu underscored Canada's gratitude for being designated as the Guest Country of Honour at the expo. The dialogue concentrated on improving bilateral trade while ensuring stability in economic ties. Reviving the Canada-China Economic and Financial Strategic Dialogue emerged as a central theme, viewed as crucial for addressing trade challenges and exploring fresh avenues for collaboration. Both parties expressed their eagerness to hold regular discussions to maintain steady advancement in their economic partnership.

Vice-Premier He Lifeng and Minister Sidhu agreed on the importance of sustaining positive dynamics between their nations. Their commitment to enhancing collaboration spans trade, investment, and overall economic growth.
