Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Supports 1,690 Startups in 2025

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant move for digital enterprise growth, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy announced its support for 1,690 digital startups in 2025, reflecting a robust 39.7% rise from the previous year. This achievement reinforces Dubai's status as an influential global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

A notable percentage of those supported thrive in rapidly-growing tech fields. Approximately 15% of these startups are involved in artificial intelligence (AI), while fintech startups make up 12% of the total. Furthermore, companies focusing on mobility technology, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and e-commerce represent an additional 20%. Impressively, 75% of the startups assisted were global firms, showcasing Dubai's increasing international allure as a digital business center.

Launching the Dubai Founders HQ

In October 2024, Dubai launched the Dubai Founders HQ, a flagship initiative crafted to unite the startup and SME ecosystem. This encompasses a physical innovation hub paired with an expansive digital platform, fostering connections among founders, investors, and ecosystem supporters. The goal is to enhance innovation, facilitate business growth, and increase global scalability for startups based in Dubai.

A Vision for the Future

The leadership in Dubai, represented by the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, reaffirms its commitment to developing a fully integrated digital economy. This is supported by advanced infrastructure, adaptable regulations, and a favorable business landscape. The chamber actively supports digital firms in scaling globally from Dubai through access to essential infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, talent, and markets.

Holistic Support via 'Business in Dubai'

Through its 'Business in Dubai' platform, the chamber provides integrated services, business matchmaking, and partnerships with reliable service providers. In 2025, 48% of the supported startups received aid with their setup and participation in accelerators or incubators, while 31% availed business support services, including market entry, investor connections, and operational assistance.

Encouraging Innovation through Create Apps Championship

The Create Apps Championship, part of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative, continues to draw innovators globally. The championship has seen over 5,800 registrations across its first two editions, leading to more than 55 smart applications being developed. The latest edition introduced a Participant Support Programme to assist high-potential teams in launching an additional 50 applications, offering funding exceeding AED 2.5 million, alongside training, mentorship, and accelerator opportunities.

Expand North Star 2025 Sets Records

The 10th iteration of Expand North Star 2025, facilitated by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, set new records by gathering over 2,000 startups and 1,200 investors managing assets worth over US$1.1 trillion. This event included founders from 40 unicorn companies with a total valuation of approximately US$900 billion, solidifying Dubai's role in the global digital entrepreneurship and investment landscape.

Global Engagement and Leadership

In 2025, the chamber hosted 36 strategic ecosystem events and 17 international roadshows in key markets such as Canada, Australia, Germany, and Singapore. These events interacted with over 2,500 digital startups and partners, highlighting opportunities within Dubai's digital economy.

Additionally, the chamber published eight strategic reports, including the 'Entrepreneur’s AI Playbook' which guides founders on effectively leveraging AI tools for business growth and a report spotlighting foreign direct investment prospects in the technology arena.
