Sustainable Dhofar Campaign Launched in Salalah

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has launched the “Sustainable Dhofar” campaign in cooperation with several government institutions and organizations. The initiative was launched in Salalah with the aim of promoting sustainability, innovation and community participation in addressing environmental and urban challenges across Dhofar Governorate.

Campaign Focuses on Green Mobility and Sustainable Development

The campaign is designed to strengthen sustainable development and improve the quality of life in Dhofar. It will encourage young people and national talents to develop innovative ideas while creating stronger partnerships between government bodies, private companies, academic institutions and entrepreneurs.

Oman Promotes Sustainable Transport Solutions

Abdullah bin Ali Al Busaidi, Director General of the Oman Logistics Center, said the campaign supports the ministry’s efforts to encourage green mobility practices in Oman. He said its launch alongside the second edition of the Gulf Green Forum in Salalah highlights Oman’s growing focus on sustainable solutions in the transport and logistics sectors.

Citizens and Entrepreneurs Invited to Submit Ideas

The campaign will allow citizens, visitors, investors and entrepreneurs to submit proposals through the “Amed” platform. The platform was launched alongside the campaign and will receive ideas related to logistical and digital sustainability.

Supporting Local Innovation and Investment

“Sustainable Dhofar” aims to transform promising local ideas into practical and investable projects. The campaign will also build a database of innovators and entrepreneurs, helping authorities identify talent and develop future initiatives that support Oman Vision 2040 and sustainable development objectives in Dhofar.

Long-Term Benefits for Dhofar

Officials expect the campaign to increase public awareness of sustainability and create long-term partnerships between different sectors. It is also expected to support new environmental initiatives, strengthen green mobility and encourage community participation in creating a more sustainable future for Dhofar.
