Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein Opens Strong at Box Office

Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein Opens Strong at Box Office

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein started well at the box office on Friday, earning around Rs 17 crore. This marks a strong Bollywood comeback for Dhanush with an intense love story. The opening is the second biggest of the year after Saiyaara, which earned Rs 20 crore. With this performance, Tere Ishk Mein has also surpassed the opening day collection of Rakul Preet and Ajay Devgn’s romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2, which released just two weeks ago.

According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, Tere Ishk Mein collected ₹16.50 crore net in India on its first day. The film has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences, and it is expected to continue performing well over the weekend.

Directed by Anand L Rai, Tere Ishk Mein marks the third collaboration between Dhanush and the filmmaker. Their earlier successful projects include Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re. The film was reportedly made with a budget of Rs 85 crore and was shot in Delhi, Varanasi, and Mumbai. The locations bring a vibrant feel to the movie, complementing the emotional and romantic storyline.

The lead actors, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, have received praise for their on-screen chemistry and performances. Dhanush, known for his versatility, brings a fresh and intense energy to his role, while Kriti Sanon adds charm and emotion to the film. Together, they have managed to connect with the audience, making the movie an early hit at the box office.

This opening is also significant because Dhanush has achieved a unique milestone in Indian cinema. By earning Rs 10 crore plus on the opening day in three different movie industries—Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi—he has created a rare record. Only one other Tamil star, Rajinikanth, has achieved this feat before. This demonstrates Dhanush’s growing pan-India appeal and his ability to attract audiences across languages and regions.

Industry experts believe that Tere Ishk Mein’s success is a combination of strong storytelling, emotional content, and effective promotion. The movie’s songs, cinematography, and heartfelt narrative have also contributed to its positive reception. The film is expected to maintain momentum through the weekend and possibly break more records in its first week.

With its strong start, Tere Ishk Mein has positioned itself as one of the notable Hindi releases of the year. Fans of Dhanush and Kriti Sanon have already shown their support, and the film’s impressive opening indicates that it could enjoy a long and successful run in cinemas across India.
