Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand has officially commenced a significant diplomatic mission in Paris, focusing on enhancing the nation’s international collaborations and advancing its interests within Europe.
The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the delegation's arrival at Paris-Orly International Airport on Friday morning local time. Accompanying him are key ministers responsible for finance, foreign affairs, and culture, underscoring the trip's strategic significance.
A key engagement for the Prime Minister includes a meeting with the Director-General of the International Energy Agency. The agenda will center on fortifying Thailand’s energy security amidst ongoing global supply challenges and rising international energy issues.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will meet with UNESCO representatives to enhance cultural cooperation and elevate Thailand’s heritage on the world stage. Cultural diplomacy is regarded as vital for boosting international recognition and tourism.
During this visit, the Thai leader will also connect with the local Thai community and partake in religious events commemorating Queen Rambhai Barni. Meetings with Thai business stakeholders across Europe, particularly in food production, sustainable packaging, and restaurant sectors, are also scheduled.
Economically, discussions with leaders from the French private sector encompassing aerospace, medical technology, and advanced manufacturing are aimed at attracting investment and reinforcing trade relations between Thailand and France.
A significant moment of the visit will be an official dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where both leaders will discuss bilateral relations and future cooperative endeavors.
This diplomatic mission is viewed as a part of Thailand’s broader strategy to strengthen its ties with Europe, fostering collaboration in energy, culture, technology, and investment amid global economic shifts.
