The Department of Planning and Development—“Trakhees” at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has successfully conducted a significant inspection initiative in the first quarter of 2026, examining 356 establishments, including beauty centers and hair salons across Dubai.
Officials announced a notable compliance rate of 94.11%, which underscores the commitment of personal care facilities to adhere to health and safety regulations. This initiative forms part of Trakhees’ ongoing mission to bolster public health safeguards, enhance service standards, and foster a secure and sustainable business atmosphere.
Managed by the Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) Department through its Health and Safety Inspection Section, the inspections were aimed at ensuring adherence to approved operational standards and health protocols within salons and beauty establishments.
During the inspection period, team members assessed crucial aspects such as overall cleanliness, effective sterilization practices, the safe application of cosmetic products, and compliance with business activity regulations. Efforts were also made to educate business owners and employees on maintaining hygiene standards and creating a safe environment for patrons.
Eng. Abdulla Mohammed Belhoul, CEO of The Department of Planning and Development—Trakhees at PCFC, indicated that the inspection campaign reflects a robust and anticipatory approach to community health protection. He noted that the high compliance rate illustrates the effectiveness of the regulatory framework in cultivating a culture of compliance.
Belhoul also emphasized that actions against non-compliant establishments are part of a strict policy that addresses health-related violations with zero tolerance, regardless of severity.
Additionally, Trakhees is committed to enhancing its monitoring capabilities to promptly identify non-compliant practices and undertake swift corrective measures, ensuring the safety of both clients and staff while upholding high standards in Dubai's personal care industry.
