Commemoration Day Observed at Wahat Al Karama by Sheikh Theyab

Post by : Bianca Haleem

His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, led a poignant tribute at Wahat Al Karama as the UAE commemorated its martyrs on 30 November. The ceremony underscored the nation's profound respect for those who have fallen and its pledge to uphold their legacy.

The event, organized by the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs, commenced with a moment of silent prayer in honor of the brave heroes. Guests stood in hushed reverence, acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice made by these individuals, fostering an atmosphere of reflection and unity. The significance of Wahat Al Karama, with its meaningful architecture dedicated to celebrating national service, elevated the solemnity of the occasion.

Sheikh Theyab observed the raising of the UAE flag, preceding the national anthem—an iconic moment emblematic of the courage and loyalty exhibited by the martyrs. This symbol served to reinforce the collective pride felt by the nation's leadership, government, and citizens alike.

The ceremony consistently highlighted the core values which shape the UAE's identity—gratitude, resilience, and strong solidarity. Families of martyrs, along with officials and attendees, gathered not only to remember those who gave their lives but also to affirm the duty of preserving their enduring legacy.

Sheikh Theyab reiterated the importance of Commemoration Day, reflecting on the leadership's ongoing commitment to offering comprehensive support for martyrs' families. His presence underscored the UAE's enduring approach to honoring its heroes through active remembrance and deep national unity.

The memorial at Wahat Al Karama once again sent a clear message that the sacrifices made by the UAE's martyrs are a fundamental aspect of the country’s past and future.
