Ibrahim Salem Al Alawi, Non-Resident Ambassador of the UAE to Ecuador, recently met with Gabriela Sommerfeld, Ecuador's Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Quito. This meeting aimed to fortify diplomatic relations and broaden collaboration between the two nations across diverse fields.
During this encounter, Ambassador Al Alawi conveyed greetings from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to Minister Sommerfeld. He expressed heartfelt wishes for Ecuador’s ongoing prosperity. In response, Minister Sommerfeld offered her regards to H.H. Sheikh Abdullah, wishing continued growth for the UAE and its citizens.
The two officials explored avenues to strengthen UAE-Ecuador relations, emphasizing the necessity of closer diplomatic, cultural, and economic connections. They underscored the importance of creating platforms for regular dialogues and cooperation on both regional and international fronts to benefit their nations long-term.
A significant focus of their discussion revolved around economic collaboration, particularly in trade and investment. The officials assessed opportunities to enhance business cooperation and encourage private sector involvement in projects beneficial to both countries. They aimed to pinpoint areas suitable for joint ventures that could drive mutual prosperity.
The dialogue also touched on strengthening partnerships across sectors of mutual interest, such as technology, education, tourism, and sustainable development.
