In a significant humanitarian effort, an International Charity Organisation has provided Syria with 50 kidney dialysis machines through the Ministry of Health. This delivery represents a major enhancement to the nation’s renal care services, which are currently overwhelmed by a rising number of kidney failure cases and limited medical resources.
During the handover event, officials confirmed that these machines would be allocated to essential hospitals and dialysis centres that are facing the greatest patient influx. Various health teams in Syria are grappling with growing patient lines and overburdened facilities, leading to lengthy wait times and potentially inadequate treatment sessions. The introduction of these machines is anticipated to alleviate wait times and improve operational effectiveness.
This initiative has been made possible through generous contributions from donors in the UAE, continually addressing urgent and long-lasting medical needs within Syria. The charity emphasized that the aim of this project is to furnish equipment that provides immediate support to both patients and healthcare providers, as well as to ensure service continuity in the upcoming months.
The organisation also stated that further evaluations are in progress to pinpoint additional needs in hospitals and healthcare facilities, aiming to plan subsequent support phases to fortify Syria’s overall healthcare infrastructure.
