Post by : Bianca Haleem

In an official visit to the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The dialogue emphasized initiatives aimed at strengthening their bilateral ties and deepening collaboration in key areas.

Both leaders focused on boosting economic ties and development partnerships through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). They reviewed various strategies to ensure joint projects align with national development goals, fostering mutual benefits for both nations.

The discussions also touched upon recent Middle Eastern events and their impacts on regional and global security. President Tshisekedi voiced firm condemnation of assaults on civilians and infrastructures, highlighting such actions as breaches of international law that jeopardize stability.

Further, he expressed the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s support for the UAE's initiatives to uphold its national security and protect its citizens' safety.

The meeting included prominent UAE officials, for instance, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, and Sheikh Shakhboot, along with various ministers and dignitaries.

Upon arrival, President Tshisekedi was greeted by Sheikh Shakhboot, marking the start of his official visit, which seeks to enhance both diplomatic and economic relations.
