NEW DELHI, February 21, 2026 — The United Arab Emirates has announced that it will host the Artificial Intelligence Summit in 2028, further strengthening its position as a global hub for advanced technology and responsible AI governance. The country will also co-chair the 2027 edition of the summit alongside the Swiss Confederation in Geneva.
The announcement was made during the AI Impact Summit 2026 held in New Delhi from 16 to 20 February. The move reflects the UAE’s continued efforts to enhance international cooperation in advanced technology and promote innovation-driven development.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, stated that under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE believes that shaping the future of artificial intelligence requires strong international dialogue and cooperation among governments and institutions.
He emphasized that the UAE aims to build bridges between nations, encourage the exchange of expertise, and develop joint policies that ensure the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies. The country seeks to balance rapid innovation with effective regulatory frameworks to ensure safety, inclusiveness, and trust in AI systems.
The UAE’s leadership role in consecutive summit editions highlights growing international confidence in its approach to AI governance. The country is focused on promoting sustainable growth, supporting digital transformation, and strengthening global cooperation to address shared challenges.
The Artificial Intelligence Summit is a major global platform that brings together government leaders, policymakers, technology experts, and international organisations to discuss the future impact of AI on economies and societies. It aims to foster collaboration, share best practices, and develop practical policies to ensure AI technologies are safe, transparent, and aligned with human values.
