A comprehensive team from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), AD Ports Group, and various governmental sectors, along with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC), paid a visit to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).
Their primary aim was to evaluate the well-being of individuals impacted by the recent Iranian aggressions on Abu Dhabi, facilitating continuous monitoring of their conditions while enhancing inter-agency coordination.
The delegation was spearheaded by His Excellency Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports. They received detailed briefings regarding the management of cases, right from the initial emergency response to ongoing care.
The team inspected the operational protocols established for quick intervention and resource allocation, adapting to changing requirements. They also scrutinized the cooperation channels between health, ambulance, and security units, discussing contingency plans to ensure service continuity under varied scenarios.
Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan remarked that the swift response and teamwork among various entities highlight Abu Dhabi's strong institutional setup. He reaffirmed that the healthcare infrastructure is proactive, ensuring uninterrupted service and fortifying the emirate’s preparedness for diverse challenges.
He stated:
"In the UAE, we stand united as one community. Assisting those hurt is both a national and humanitarian obligation. Our actions today showcase our leadership's vision, our advanced medical abilities, and the compassion ingrained in our culture."
He further noted that the Unified Medical Operations Command Centre functions as a central hub, orchestrating resource management, inter-entity coordination, and maintaining healthcare services during extraordinary situations.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi stressed that the seamless collaboration among government sectors exemplifies a sophisticated crisis management model. AD Ports Group remains committed to enhancing national and local systems by utilizing logistical and operational strengths to bolster supply chain robustness and ensure efficient responses to evolving challenges.
As the visit concluded, the delegation expressed hopes for a rapid recovery among the affected individuals and emphasized the necessity for ongoing collaborative efforts. They also reiterated the importance of adapting operational strategies, effective role integration, and maintaining a flexible, prompt response across all circumstances.
