The United Arab Emirates (UAE) national parachuting team has achieved an outstanding result at a world-level event. The team participated in the FAI World Style and Accuracy Landing Championship, which was held in Ravenna, Italy. This championship included many of the world’s best skydivers and parachutists. It concluded recently with the UAE team winning a total of six medals across different categories.

Global Competition with Top Athletes

The FAI World Championship is one of the most respected skydiving events in the world. Athletes from many different countries compete in this event. The categories include accuracy landing, freestyle, distance, and speed. Each of these categories tests a different skill, and athletes must train hard to perform at a high level. The competition in Ravenna attracted some of the top parachuting athletes from around the globe, making it a challenging contest for every participant.

Abdulbari Qubaisi Wins Four Medals

One of the best performers in the championship was Abdulbari Qubaisi, a key member of the UAE national team. He won four medals in total, including one gold and three silver medals. His performance was among the best in the entire championship. He showed great control, balance, and skill during all the rounds of the event.

Gold in Accuracy Category

Abdulbari Qubaisi’s most impressive medal was the gold medal in the “Accuracy” category. This event requires the parachutist to land as close as possible to a small target on the ground. It tests how well an athlete can control their descent and timing. Qubaisi managed to land with amazing precision, proving his top-level abilities.

Silver Medals in Other Categories

In addition to the gold medal, Qubaisi also won three silver medals. One was in the overall ranking, meaning he performed so well across all events that he finished in second place overall. The other two silver medals came in the “Distance” and “Freestyle” categories. In the distance event, athletes are judged by how far they land from a given point. Freestyle is judged based on the creativity and smoothness of moves during free fall. These results showed Qubaisi’s all-around talent.

Perfect Scores in Early Rounds

Qubaisi’s performance was especially strong in the beginning of the competition. He achieved full marks in both the first and second rounds, showing his consistency. In total, he scored 291 points, which helped him secure the second position in the overall rankings. His results were praised by many observers and officials.

Cornelia Mihai Adds Two More Medals

Another important member of the UAE team, Cornelia Mihai, also performed extremely well. She won two medals, helping the team’s total rise to six. Her skill, focus, and control made a big difference in the UAE's performance during the championship.

Silver in Speed Category

Cornelia Mihai won a silver medal in the “Speed” category. In this event, skydivers are judged based on how quickly they can perform specific moves while falling through the air. Speed skydiving requires fast reactions, physical strength, and excellent timing. Mihai’s second-place finish in this event proved that she is one of the fastest skydivers in the world.

Bronze in Freestyle Event

Cornelia also won a bronze medal in the “Freestyle” category, showing her creativity and talent. In this event, athletes perform artistic moves while falling, and judges score them based on style and execution. Her performance was full of elegance and precision, helping her earn third place in this category.

Praise from National Federation

After the event ended, the team received praise from Mohammed Yousuf Abdul Rahman, the General Secretary of the Emirates Aerosport Federation (EAF). He congratulated the athletes for their strong and professional performances. He noted that these results showed how far the UAE has come in the field of air sports.

Thanks to Skydive Dubai Team

The General Secretary also gave special thanks to the Skydive Dubai team. He said their support was very important in preparing the athletes for this big competition. They helped train and guide the team in the weeks before the event. Their efforts helped the athletes stay focused and confident during the championship.

A Major Achievement for UAE Sports

Winning six medals at a global sports event is a major accomplishment for any country. For the UAE, this victory shows how much the country has grown in international sports. The success of the parachuting team is a clear sign of progress and development in sports training, preparation, and support.

Encouragement for Future Athletes

The strong results from Qubaisi and Mihai will also encourage young people in the UAE to take part in sports like parachuting and skydiving. Their performances show that with hard work and dedication, UAE athletes can compete with the best in the world. This will likely inspire more interest in air sports in the future.

Importance of International Recognition

This international recognition also brings honor to the UAE. It shows that the country is becoming a serious competitor on the world sports stage. It also helps build the UAE’s reputation as a place that supports sports development and welcomes global competitions.

What is the FAI Championship?

The FAI World Style and Accuracy Landing Championship is held regularly and is one of the most prestigious events in the world of parachuting. FAI stands for Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, which is the world governing body for air sports. The event includes many categories such as accuracy, freestyle, speed, and distance, and is known for its strict rules and top-level competitors.

Hosting and Participation in Future Events

The UAE’s success in Ravenna may also open opportunities for the country to host international skydiving events in the future. This would bring athletes and visitors from around the world to the UAE and help grow the sports tourism industry. It would also give local athletes more chances to compete at home.

The UAE national parachuting team has made the country proud by winning six medals at the FAI World Style and Accuracy Landing Championship in Italy. Abdulbari Qubaisi won four medals, including one gold and three silvers, while Cornelia Mihai added one silver and one bronze. The success was praised by the Emirates Aerosport Federation, and support from Skydive Dubai played an important role in the team’s success.

This achievement proves that the UAE is becoming a strong force in air sports. With the right support and continued dedication, the country is on track for even greater success in international sporting events in the years to come.
