UAE to Host Major Indian Cultural Event in Dubai's Zabeel Park

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

The UAE is set to organize a significant cultural gathering aimed at honoring the rich traditions of the Indian community and the enduring bond between the two nations. Scheduled for Sunday, October 26, at Zabeel Park in Dubai, the event anticipates attracting over 70,000 attendees from various backgrounds.

This celebration, now in its second year, seeks to acknowledge the deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and India, emphasizing unity, culture, and community engagement. It will also showcase the significant contributions of the Indian community to the UAE's societal and economic landscape.

Organized under the “Emirates Loves India” campaign, the event is designed to enhance cultural collaboration and friendship between the nations. Guests can look forward to live cultural performances, traditional Indian music and dance, alongside family-friendly activities. The food stalls will feature an array of Indian cuisines, representing the country's rich culinary diversity.

Prominent Attendees and Cultural Solidarity
The event will see the attendance of UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi and A. Amarnath, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by diplomats, business figures, and local Indian and Emirati community members.

Minister Al Kaabi noted that such cultural exchange events highlight the profound friendship shared by the UAE and India, emphasizing their mutual respect and shared aspirations for growth and peace.

Indian community leader A. Amarnath also expressed gratitude towards the UAE leadership for continually supporting the Indian community and fostering cultural harmony.

A Time-Tested Partnership
The cooperation between the UAE and India has strengthened significantly over the years. It was formally initiated with a Cultural Agreement in January 1975, setting a precedent for regular cultural and educational interaction.

A landmark moment occurred in 2017 with the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, broadening frameworks for collaboration in various sectors including trade, culture, technology, and education.

The following year, the relationship deepened further with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which aims to escalate trade and investment efforts. CEPA targets boosting non-oil trade to $100 billion by 2030.

Since its implementation in May 2022, CEPA has yielded notable successes, with non-oil trade between the UAE and India reaching $37.6 billion in the first half of 2025, reflecting a 33.9% increase compared to the previous year. This growth emphasizes the benefits arising from their close relationship.

A Cultural Celebration with Economic Implications
While primarily a celebration of culture and friendship, the event also symbolizes the economic strength and confidence shared among the nations. The UAE hosts a significant Indian diaspora, numbering over 3.5 million, making it one of the largest Indian populations outside India. Indians contribute significantly across sectors such as healthcare, education, business, and technology.

The “Emirates Loves India” event at Zabeel Park promises joy for families, while reminding everyone of the importance of cultural ties in reinforcing diplomatic and economic relationships.

As the UAE and India continue their collaborative efforts for peace, prosperity, and mutual progress, this gathering will signify the enduring unity and respect between their peoples.
