UAE Youth Begin Humanitarian Mission To Support Palestinians

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Federal Youth Authority announced the start of the Youth Social Missions Programme under the Humanity Track. This initiative sends young Emiratis to participate in Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 in Al Arish, Egypt, to provide humanitarian support to the Palestinian people. The launch coincided with World Humanitarian Day, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to global aid and solidarity.

Inauguration by Minister of State for Youth Affairs

The first group of participants was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Sultan Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs. He personally met the young volunteers in the field, praising their enthusiasm, dedication, and readiness to contribute to humanitarian efforts in one of the world’s most crisis-affected areas.

Minister’s Remarks on Youth and Humanitarian Work

Speaking in Al Arish, Dr. Al Neyadi said the UAE believes humanitarian values must be instilled in younger generations. He emphasized that the Youth Social Missions Programme prepares Emirati youth to be ambassadors of giving, global peace, and humanitarian support. These youth represent the UAE’s values and its international reputation for supporting communities in need.

UAE Youth as Humanitarian Ambassadors

Dr. Al Neyadi added that the Emirati youth on this mission are a strong example of humanitarian responsibility. Their participation in Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 shows their readiness to support Palestinians, deliver aid, and act with initiative, responsibility, and national pride. This aligns with the UAE’s enduring humanitarian principles and global leadership in aid.

Empowering Youth Through Practical Experience

Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Director of Empowerment at the Federal Youth Authority, said launching the first group reflects efforts to empower youth in humanitarian, development, and cultural fields. The programme provides practical tools and real field experiences to enhance skills and enable youth to positively impact communities worldwide.

Field Tasks for Humanitarian Work

Emirati youth in the programme will undertake field tasks such as preparing relief shipments, packaging and distributing food, medical and water supplies, supporting logistics teams, and monitoring the UAE Lifeline water pipeline, which serves around 600,000 Palestinians in Gaza. This hands-on work allows youth to understand the challenges of humanitarian work and contribute effectively to alleviating suffering.

Direct Relief and Psychosocial Support

The participants will also engage in direct relief efforts, including distributing food and medical aid, providing psychosocial support, and coordinating with official humanitarian entities in Gaza. The programme helps youth develop skills, broaden awareness of global issues, and understand humanitarian needs in crisis zones.

Promoting Sustainable Development Goals

Through participation in these field missions, the youth gain exposure to initiatives that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their work reflects the UAE’s commitment to international humanitarian cooperation, youth empowerment, and leadership in global aid operations.

National Initiative Under Youth Agenda 2031

The Youth Social Missions Programme is a flagship national initiative by the Federal Youth Authority, launched under the Society and Values pillar of the National Youth Agenda 2031. It aims to prepare Emirati youth to participate in humanitarian, development, and cultural missions, enhancing their skills and global presence.

Training the Next Generation of Humanitarian Leaders

The programme also focuses on building future leaders in humanitarian work. Participants gain practical field experience, learn about humanitarian logistics, and understand the importance of international aid coordination. This prepares a new generation of Emirati youth to represent the nation internationally while upholding its humanitarian values.

Encouraging Responsibility and Initiative

Youth involved in Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 are encouraged to take initiative and demonstrate responsibility in delivering aid. Their participation highlights the UAE’s vision of empowering youth as active contributors to global peace and welfare, while fostering a strong sense of belonging to their country and humanitarian principles.

Enhancing UAE’s Global Humanitarian Role

The programme strengthens the UAE’s global humanitarian role by training youth to respond effectively to crises. By engaging in practical, on-the-ground relief operations, they support communities in need and learn how to implement humanitarian projects with efficiency and care.

Youth Empowerment and Humanitarian Impact

The Youth Social Missions Programme exemplifies the UAE’s commitment to empowering young people, promoting global solidarity, and providing meaningful humanitarian support. Through participation in Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, Emirati youth gain valuable experience, develop leadership skills, and contribute positively to the lives of Palestinian communities in need.

The initiative demonstrates how youth empowerment and humanitarian work go hand in hand, building a new generation of capable, compassionate, and responsible global citizens ready to represent the UAE’s values on the international stage.
