UAE Commemoration Day Observance Led by Fujairah Ruler in Abu Dhabi

Post by : Bianca Haleem

On Sunday, the UAE held a Reverent Commemoration Day ceremony at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah. He was joined by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes Affairs, in paying tribute to the nation's heroes.

During the observance, Sheikh Hamad placed a wreath at the memorial, honoring the bravery, dedication, and loyalty of the UAE martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He also awarded the Martyr’s Medal to the families of four fallen heroes, acknowledging the profound loss and the enduring legacy they represent.

The ceremony showcased the UAE’s profound respect for its martyrs, with fighter jets performing an aerial salute above Wahat Al Karama, symbolically creating the shape of the Unknown Soldier to honor those who died for the country's security.

The event drew numerous dignitaries, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, among others.

Noteworthy attendees included Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State; and Major General Staff Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with various members of the Al Nahyan and Al Sharqi families.

Ministers, military leaders, diplomats, and families of martyrs participated in the ceremony, symbolizing the united pride of the nation.

Commemoration Day remains a solemn reminder of the UAE's enduring gratitude toward its heroes—those who sacrificed everything to protect the nation's future.
