Ukraine Releases Footage of Railway Bridge Strike in Crimea

Ukraine Releases Footage of Railway Bridge Strike in Crimea

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) have announced the destruction of a railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in Russian-occupied Crimea, a structure reportedly used by Russian forces to transport military equipment, supplies and resources to the southern front.

The operation was confirmed by the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which also released footage showing the strike and the damage caused to the bridge.

Joint Operation with Resistance Movement

According to Ukrainian officials, the operation was carried out by SOF strike drone units in coordination with members of the SOF Resistance Movement operating in occupied territories.

The targeted bridge is located near the village of Rozdolne in Crimea. Ukrainian authorities described it as an important military logistics route used by Russian forces to move cargo and military supplies from Russia through Crimea. The route also supported Russian military infrastructure across the peninsula.

First Drone Strike Damages Bridge

During the night of June 22, Ukrainian drones launched an attack on the railway bridge. The strike reportedly destroyed part of the railway track and caused one section of the bridge to collapse.

The damage disrupted a transport corridor that Ukraine says was being used to support Russian military operations on the southern front.

Repair Equipment Targeted in Follow-Up Attack

After the initial strike, members of the SOF Resistance Movement reported that specialized railway repair equipment had been deployed to the site to restore the damaged bridge.

In response, Ukrainian forces launched a second phase of the operation during the night of June 23. Drones targeted the repair equipment and carried out additional strikes on the remaining sections of the bridge.

Impact on Russian Military Logistics

Ukrainian officials say the operation was aimed at weakening Russian military logistics and reducing the ability of Russian forces to transport equipment and supplies through Crimea.

The destruction of the bridge is expected to create further challenges for Russian supply routes connecting Crimea with military positions in southern Ukraine.

The released footage shows significant damage to the bridge infrastructure following the coordinated drone attacks.
