The University of Sharjah proudly celebrated the graduation of 664 female students during two distinct undergraduate ceremonies, which took place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and the President of the University.
The first ceremony recognized 335 graduates from the Colleges of Business Administration, Engineering, Computing and Informatics, and Science. Meanwhile, the second event honoured 329 graduates from the Colleges of Communication, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Public Policy, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Fine Arts and Design, and Law.
Opening both ceremonies, the UAE national anthem and recitations from the Holy Qur’an set a distinguished and festive atmosphere for all present.
In his address, Dr Essam Al Din Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his honored presence at the events. He offered his congratulations to the graduates and acknowledged the indispensable support of their families throughout their academic pursuits.
Dr Ajami reiterated the university's dedication to fulfilling its academic vision and preparing students to contribute meaningfully to society. He stated, “The University of Sharjah represents more than just physical structures; it symbolizes a commitment to developing individuals.” He emphasized the institution's commitment to intertwining knowledge with values, directing research toward addressing actual challenges while ensuring women's integral roles in future shaping.
Highlighting the university's advancing global reputation, Dr Ajami informed graduates that they were departing from an institution that defines excellence as a strategic decision. He noted the university's achievements in academics and research, validated by leading international rankings. Additionally, he pointed out the institution's growth into a regional knowledge hub fostering innovation.
In concluding his remarks, Dr Ajami encouraged graduates to embrace their potential as educated women to become innovators, leaders, and catalysts for positive transformation.
As a voice for the graduates, Hind Musallam Al Marzouqi from the College of Computing and Informatics expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for gracing the ceremony and acknowledged the university's leadership. “We vow to be exemplary representatives of our faith, our nation, our leadership, and our university,” she stated, ensuring that their values would guide them in their future endeavors.
Another graduate representative, Reem Salah Al Hashemi from the College of Law, mentioned that the university was more than an educational institution: it was a place that transformed them from curious individuals to confident, empowered personalities. She congratulated her fellow graduates, their families, and the esteemed faculty and leadership.
As the ceremonies concluded, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi distributed certificates to graduates from all faculties, congratulating them on their accomplishments and wishing them success in their future professional paths.
The festivities highlighted not just educational achievements, but also the University of Sharjah's ongoing pledge to empower women and foster the development of a new generation poised to contribute to national advancement.
