Vehicle Incident Leaves Infant and Two Adults Injured in North York

Post by : Shweta

In a recent incident in North York, an infant and two adults sustained injuries after a vehicle struck them on Sunday evening. Emergency services responded promptly near Caledonia Road and Glengrove Avenue West, just south of Lawrence Avenue West, following alerts of multiple pedestrians being hit.

The Toronto Police Service reported that four individuals were found injured on the scene, including an infant, a woman in her twenties, and a man in his twenties. All three were taken to the hospital for further treatment, while another individual with minor injuries was assessed at the scene.

Initial reports from paramedics indicated that the infant and woman might have sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. However, a subsequent update clarified that all injuries were ultimately assessed as non-life-threatening.

The driver involved in this incident remained on-site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Police have not yet provided details regarding the cause of the collision, so inquiries into the circumstances behind the event are continuing.

A portion of the roadway was temporarily closed while officers conducted their investigations and collected evidence. Authorities have yet to confirm if any charges will be brought against the driver at this time.

This incident raises further concerns regarding pedestrian safety in bustling urban settings as officials continue to analyze the factors leading to such crashes.
