Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has underlined the significance of cybersecurity as an essential and pressing matter for Vietnam. He pointed out its vital role in safeguarding national security, boosting socio-economic progress, and maintaining a secure digital landscape for the populace.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that the swift evolution of technology and digital transformation presents both advantages and potential dangers. The increase in cyber threats, including data breaches, online fraud, misinformation, and cyberattacks, highlights significant risks to public safety and national security.
He also remarked on the substantial advancements Vietnam has made in fortifying cybersecurity systems, refining legal frameworks, and enhancing international collaborations. Nevertheless, ongoing issues persist, such as a lack of qualified professionals, limited resources, and the ever-changing nature of cybercrime.
Looking forward, the government plans to bolster cybersecurity infrastructure, raise awareness, improve inter-agency cooperation, and invest in technological advancements and human capital. The emphasis will be placed on proactive prevention, data protection, and ensuring a secure digital future for the nation.
