New Delhi: Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman met Mr. Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, in New Delhi on Monday.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister welcomed the new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) with the World Bank Group. She said the framework is fully aligned with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat vision.
The CPF will focus on using public funds along with private capital, supporting job creation across rural and urban India, and strengthening development projects through the World Bank Group’s global knowledge and expertise.
Smt. Sitharaman stated that India looks forward to the rollout of the CPF over the next five years and the long-term sustainable impact it is expected to create.
The Finance Minister also underlined the importance of a development partnership that goes beyond funding. She stressed that such cooperation should include knowledge sharing, technical assistance, and the exchange of global best practices.
Both leaders also discussed ways to further strengthen India–World Bank cooperation in support of India’s long-term development goals under the #ViksitBharat vision.
