Sheikh Zayed bin Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Airsoft Federation, attended the opening of the World Airsoft Games in Abu Dhabi. The championship is taking place from March 24 to 28 and features 60 teams from more than 20 countries.
The event highlights the UAE’s growing position as a global hub for modern and competitive sports. During his visit, Sheikh Zayed bin Saif reviewed the ongoing matches and assessed the overall organisation of the tournament, which is considered the largest airsoft event in the region.
He praised the high level of professionalism and the efforts of the organising teams, noting that the event meets top international standards. He said that hosting such championships reflects the UAE’s long-term vision to become a leading destination for major global sporting events.
Sheikh Zayed also emphasised the importance of airsoft as a sport that combines strategy, discipline, and teamwork. He noted that such activities play a key role in engaging youth, encouraging physical fitness, and improving quality of life.
He expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his leadership and support in building a strong environment for youth development and sports excellence. He also thanked the UAE government for its continued support in advancing the sports sector and strengthening the country’s global presence.
