Gangster Rao Inderjeet Yadav Detained in Dubai Amid Rohtak Murder Charges

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Rao Inderjeet Yadav, an Indian gangster who had escaped to Dubai following the 2024 murder of a Rohtak businessman, has reportedly been apprehended in the UAE, according to Haryana Police sources.

Sources indicate that Dubai authorities have sought relevant documentation linked to Yadav, with expectations mounting for his imminent extradition to India. However, Yadav’s attorney has refuted claims of his arrest, asserting that he remains unapprehended.

Yadav is implicated in over 15 criminal cases across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, facing accusations such as extortion, intimidation, fraud, and involvement in violent acts.

In the preceding year, a money laundering probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) targeted him, investigating ties to the murder. During investigations in Delhi and Gurugram, authorities confiscated several luxury cars, cash approximating ₹17 lakh, along with critical documents and digital evidence.

Reports also highlight that Yadav acted as a facilitator for coercive financial settlements between private lenders and businesses, often amid substantial financial disputes.

Yadav initially came into the spotlight in December 2024 concerning the assassination of financier Manjeet Dighal, prompting his flight from the country. His involvement has also been noted in various high-profile incidents, such as gunfire at singer Rahul Fazilpuria’s residence and a reported assault linked to YouTuber Elvish Yadav.

In a recent statement from Dubai, Yadav dismissed all charges, calling himself a "victim of conspiracy" rather than a criminal.

This arrest is seen as a major breakthrough by authorities, who are now awaiting further legal actions, including his extradition.
