The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), which operates under the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has announced the rescheduling of the 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). The notable event will be held from September 13 to 18, 2026, a shift from its previous dates set in April.
This adjustment highlights the fair’s increasing global relevance and its role as a significant cultural stage in the region. Organizers are striving to maximize international participation and visitor retention by choosing a more advantageous timeline.
According to officials, this decision comes after thorough consultations with global partners, publishing houses, and pertinent UAE entities. Key considerations during discussions included travel conditions, the presence of international guests, and logistical factors affecting the publishing sector.
Moreover, it has been confirmed that the 20th Sheikh Zayed Book Award ceremony will coincide with the book fair in September, further elevating the event’s cultural importance.
This strategic move is anticipated to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s status as a global center for literature, publishing, and cultural exchanges, providing a more inclusive and accessible platform for global participants.
