Abu Dhabi to Host Early Childhood Week 2025 in November

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) has officially announced the details of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025. The event will take place from 17th to 23rd November across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. The week-long celebration will focus on creating family-friendly environments and empowering communities to support the holistic development of young children.

Theme Highlights Family-Friendly Vision

This year’s theme, “Together We Can Make Abu Dhabi a Family-friendly Emirate,” calls upon everyone in society to take part in building an environment where every child can thrive. The initiative aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community and highlights the importance of unity, shared responsibility, and collective action in supporting families. Through this theme, the ECA aims to inspire families, institutions, and organisations to work together in nurturing children’s emotional, intellectual, and physical growth.

Strong Collaboration with Strategic Partners

ECA announced 51 strategic partners from the government, private sector, and community organisations. Among the main partners, ADNOC joins as the Energy Partner, the National Academy for Childhood Development (NACD) as the Visionary Partner, and PureHealth as the Health Partner. These organisations will play key roles in delivering community programs, events, and learning experiences that engage families across the emirate. The strong collaboration demonstrates the shared national commitment to making childhood development a top priority.

Engaging Activities Across the Emirate

Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025 will feature 209 community activations, with over 170 open to the public. Families can enjoy interactive workshops, cultural shows, play-based learning sessions, sports events, and wellness activities. Most of these experiences will be free, while a few will be ticketed or by invitation. The activities are designed to encourage parents and children to spend quality time together, promoting strong family bonds and healthy social development.

Focus on Culture, Technology, and Connection

The week will also emphasize the importance of preserving Emirati culture and heritage while promoting the balanced use of modern technology and artificial intelligence. Families are encouraged to use technology as a tool to support development without replacing meaningful real-life interactions. The goal is to create a balance between innovation and traditional values, ensuring that every child’s upbringing is rooted in identity and human connection.

Leadership’s Commitment to Early Childhood

Sana bint Mohamed Suhail, Minister of Family and Director-General of ECA, emphasized that the early years of life form the foundation for a strong and healthy society. She stated that by investing in early childhood, Abu Dhabi is making one of the most important and strategic social investments. She highlighted that the week serves as a reminder that the well-being of every child is a shared responsibility across families, government, and civil society.

ADNOC Highlights Role in Nurturing the Future

Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Senior Vice President for Group Medical & Wellbeing at ADNOC, expressed the company’s pride in joining the initiative. She explained that Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week offers a platform for collaboration among families, educators, and communities. ADNOC’s involvement reflects its dedication to nurturing the next generation and supporting initiatives that strengthen the foundations of childhood development and well-being.

NACD Promotes Positive Parenting Programs

Dr. Meera Saeed Al Kaabi, Chief of the National Academy for Childhood Development (NACD) Team, described the event as a strategic platform to enhance programs designed for children and parents. NACD will host a series of specialised workshops for parents, focusing on positive and practical parenting methods. It will also organise interactive sessions for children that highlight Emirati identity and national values. These initiatives aim to prepare future leaders and strengthen the educational environment for families across the UAE.

Leya Aldamani, Group Chief Sustainability Officer at PureHealth, stated that every child represents the future of the nation. She added that by building environments that unlock children’s potential, Abu Dhabi is ensuring a healthy and thriving future generation. PureHealth’s partnership with ECA underscores its mission to place health, wellness, and sustainability at the core of national growth and community development.

Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025 serves as a major community event designed to strengthen family ties and encourage participation in child-friendly initiatives. Through its wide range of events, the week will inspire parents, educators, and communities to build supportive environments where every child can grow confidently. The initiative stands as a testament to Abu Dhabi’s commitment to making the emirate a model for family well-being, inclusion, and early childhood development on a global scale.
