Sheikh Mansour Launches Al Khail Square Project in Abu Dhabi

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, has officially launched the Al Khail Square project at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club. The project aims to combine the emirate’s equestrian heritage with modern urban living, enhancing the quality of life and supporting Abu Dhabi’s future integrated communities.

Sheikh Mansour reviewed the new urban plan and was briefed by Mohammed Abdullah Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, about the key features of the project. These include advanced equestrian facilities, premium residential units, modern healthcare centres, commercial spaces, and a world-class members’ club.

Ali Al Shaiba, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and Abu Dhabi Turf Club, presented the technical details and the implementation timeline. Sheikh Mansour highlighted that the development reflects Abu Dhabi’s strong support for equestrian sports and reinforces its position as a global hub for horse racing and related activities.

He also stressed the importance of completing the project on time and to the highest standards. Al Shaiba said that Al Khail Square will redefine the club’s architectural identity, merging historical legacy with a modern model for premium living and hospitality.

The project continues the legacy of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, established in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which has long been a centre for sporting and cultural events in the emirate. The development focuses on sustainability and high-quality urban living, with green spaces, pedestrian pathways, natural light-optimised designs, modern infrastructure, and advanced cooling systems for year-round comfort.

With its strategic location, Al Khail Square is set to become one of Abu Dhabi’s most important real estate destinations. It is expected to drive new developments, strengthen the emirate’s urban and cultural infrastructure, and offer residents and visitors a lifestyle that combines equestrian tradition with modern comfort and luxury.
