Abu Dhabi has launched its first-ever Autonomous Week, marking a significant milestone in the emirate’s push towards smart and autonomous mobility. Running from 10-15 November 2025, this week-long event unites international innovators, policymakers, and industry experts to delve into advanced autonomous technologies and intelligent transport solutions.
The inaugural ceremony welcomed His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs and Chairman of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), along with His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Together, they opened the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, aimed at discussing groundbreaking trends in mobility, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
The summit featured 13 panel discussions with over 30 speakers, including prominent global experts who addressed how autonomous systems are reshaping future transportation. The focus remained on turning strategic visions into actionable solutions that improve operational efficiency and contribute to a sustainable, knowledge-driven economy.
During the week, His Highness also visited the DRIFTx exhibition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), showcasing leading-edge innovations from both national and international firms. Demonstrations included ground-based autonomous systems, drone logistics solutions, and smart marine freight technologies, all showcasing the evolving nature of autonomous transport and supply chain operations.
DRIFTx is designed as a strategic platform for investors and innovators to network, explore emerging opportunities, and witness the technological advancements shaping the smart mobility sector in the UAE and beyond.
This Autonomous Week underscores Abu Dhabi’s dedication to integrating intelligent infrastructure, developing national talent, and utilizing advanced technologies, positioning itself as a center for sustainable and innovative mobility solutions in the future.
