Abu Dhabi is transforming access to government housing with a new digital platform that empowers residents to explore, compare, and select housing projects tailored to their family needs. The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has launched the “Expression of Interest” service through the Iskan Abu Dhabi application, making housing selection more flexible and transparent.
Exploring Housing Options
The service covers all current and upcoming housing projects across the Emirate. Citizens can review options based on location, unit size, and estimated completion dates. Beneficiaries receive notifications via SMS and the app, giving them sufficient time to consider their choices before submitting preferences.
Eligibility and Services Offered
Initially, the initiative focuses on citizens applying for housing purchase loans, deferred repayment loans, or housing grants. Users can explore both government and public-private partnership projects. Those with approved residential land grants but lacking infrastructure can convert their benefits into ready housing purchase or grant services.
Current Housing Development Projects
ADHA is developing approximately 28,000 residential units across 15 projects. In the first phase, citizens can express interest and later select preferred units on project maps, allowing families to understand the location, design, and expected delivery of their future homes.
Phased Rollout Across the Emirate
The service will first be available for residents in Al Ain, followed by Abu Dhabi city and the Al Dhafra regions. Priority will be assigned based on application seniority, social conditions, family size, and current housing status. Future phases will include citizens with approved construction loans and land plots.
Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency
This digital platform highlights Abu Dhabi’s commitment to modernising public services, improving transparency, and giving citizens greater autonomy in housing decisions. The initiative also aims to reduce waiting times and streamline the housing allocation process for families across the Emirate.
Planning Ahead for Families
By offering detailed insights into project maps and unit availability, citizens can plan their relocation effectively, understanding both the physical and social aspects of their prospective homes. The platform ensures families are well-informed before making housing decisions.
Future Prospects and Expansion
ADHA plans to expand the service gradually to include all housing applicants across Abu Dhabi, creating a fully digital, citizen-centric approach to government housing. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance public service delivery and embrace smart technology solutions.
