Abu Dhabi to Host 11th Extreme Championship in Al Ain

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The 11th edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC) is set to take place on 14th November in the Al Ain Region, Abu Dhabi. Organized by International Vision Sports Management (IVSM), the championship continues to build on its reputation as one of the most exciting and fast-growing platforms in jiu-jitsu and grappling worldwide. Since its debut in October 2023, ADXC has captivated combat sports fans across the globe with its unique format and high-energy atmosphere.

ADXC has become a major highlight in the world of martial arts due to its distinctive ruleset and innovative match format. These features have set it apart from other tournaments, ensuring intense and entertaining contests between top-level athletes. The event consistently attracts elite international competitors, making it one of the most prestigious platforms for both professional and amateur fighters. Its ability to combine innovation with tradition has helped the UAE gain recognition as a leading destination for global combat sports.

Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, Chairman of IVSM, emphasized that hosting ADXC in Al Ain highlights the UAE’s dedication to nurturing sports excellence and fostering national pride. He credited the unwavering support of the country’s leadership for enabling the success of the championship and ensuring its continued growth. Alhashmi noted that the UAE’s vision goes beyond organizing events—it focuses on using sports as a tool to inspire future generations and promote unity and cultural identity.

Saeed Al Dhahiri, Director of the Destination Management Department at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said that the ADXC has been a key factor in establishing the emirate as a global center for combat sports. He explained that the event not only brings together world-class athletes and passionate fans but also supports the development of local talent. Al Dhahiri added that hosting such events aligns with Abu Dhabi’s long-term goal of becoming an international sports tourism destination.

The organizing committee has promised an exceptional lineup for ADXC 11, featuring top jiu-jitsu and grappling champions from around the world. Several special matchups are planned to captivate both the live audience and global viewers. Over recent editions, ADXC has featured renowned athletes such as Espen Mathiesen, Abdul Kareem Al Selwady, Aljamain Sterling, Amir Albazi, Neiman Gracie, Arman Tsarukyan, Pouya Rahmani, and Roberto Abreu (Cyborg). This blend of experience, skill, and showmanship has made ADXC one of the most anticipated events on the martial arts calendar.

The success of ADXC has also paved the way for international expansion. The championship has previously hosted editions in Moscow, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, and Balneário Camboriú in Brazil, allowing it to connect with a wider audience of combat sports enthusiasts. Each international edition has showcased the UAE’s organizational excellence and its ability to promote cultural exchange through sports. This expansion has helped strengthen ADXC’s identity as a truly global championship rooted in Emirati values.

Beyond the excitement of competition, ADXC serves as an educational platform for young athletes in the UAE. Through exposure to world-class fighters and international training methods, local talents gain valuable experience and motivation to pursue excellence in martial arts. By investing in such initiatives, the UAE continues to promote discipline, resilience, and teamwork among youth, aligning with its broader goals of building a healthy and active society.

The upcoming edition in Al Ain will not only celebrate the spirit of competition but also highlight Emirati hospitality and cultural heritage. Fans and participants can look forward to a memorable event that combines sporting excellence with cultural pride, reinforcing the UAE’s reputation as a nation that values sportsmanship, unity, and innovation.
