Al Habtoor Strengthens UAE Charity with Real Estate Contributions

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant philanthropic gesture, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, the Founder and Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, has donated five residential units from the esteemed Al Habtoor City development to the Real Estate Developers’ Endowment. This initiative, established in collaboration with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and overseen by the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC), is designed to enhance enduring charitable initiatives across the UAE.

The Al Habtoor Group will manage these donated units, with annual proceeds allocated to social and humanitarian programs. The funds raised will directly support sectors such as healthcare, education, and assistance for underserved populations, including orphans, widows, and individuals with disabilities.

Al Habtoor underscored the significance of endowments as a permanent vehicle for social responsibility. “This nation thrives on a spirit of generosity. These initiatives are meant to uplift the community and demonstrate our dedication to the values of the UAE,” he remarked.

The initiative also emphasizes the increasing partnership between private enterprises and the endowment sector, urging real estate developers to invest in societal betterment. Furthermore, it aligns with the UAE’s commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy and ensuring sustainable assistance for those in need.

By utilizing real estate assets for charitable purposes, this program aims to create a reliable funding source for meaningful projects, thereby ensuring that help continues to reach the community over the long term.

The Real Estate Developers’ Endowment serves as a model for how businesses can significantly influence social progress, highlighting the synergy between strategic philanthropy and corporate responsibility.
