Iran’s Tractor FC and UAE’s Al Wahda FC played to a thrilling goalless draw in their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 match on Monday. Despite several chances, both teams failed to find the net, and the encounter ended with each side sharing a point at the Yadegar-E-Imam Stadium.
Al Wahda Start Strong
The UAE club showed great control from the start, taking possession and pressing forward. However, Tractor quickly grew into the game. In the 11th minute, Tomislav Strkalj came close to giving the Iranian side the lead with a sharp chance in front of goal. Just two minutes later, Danial Esmaelifar delivered a dangerous cross, but Al Wahda’s goalkeeper Mohamed Alshamsi reacted well and made a timely intervention.
Tractor Fight Back with Attacking Play
Tractor slowly gained momentum after the opening exchanges, testing Al Wahda’s defense on several occasions. They looked determined to make use of their home advantage, but Al Wahda remained compact at the back, frustrating their hosts with solid defensive work and confident goalkeeping.
Al Wahda Collect Another Point
With the draw, Al Wahda now sit on four points in the group standings. This result keeps them in contention after an earlier win, while Tractor have collected two points so far from their matches. The goalless outcome may have been disappointing for both sides, but it reflected the close competition in this stage of the tournament.
Al Gharafa Earn First Victory
In another match of the night, Qatar’s Al Gharafa secured a strong 2-0 victory over Iraq’s Al Shorta at Khalifa Stadium in Doha. Goals from Joselu and Ferjani Sassi sealed the win, lifting Al Gharafa to three points in the group. Al Shorta, meanwhile, remain on a single point and continue to chase their first win of the campaign.
Al Hilal Triumph in Uzbekistan
Saudi giants Al Hilal also grabbed a vital victory on the road, edging Uzbekistan’s Nasaf 3-2 in a tense encounter at the Nasaf Central Stadium. With this result, Al Hilal moved to six points, making them strong contenders at the top of their group. Nasaf, however, are yet to secure any points after consecutive losses.
Competitive Start to AFC Champions League Elite
The opening rounds of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 have already showcased thrilling football and tough competition across the region. With clubs from the Middle East and Asia battling for supremacy, every point is crucial at this stage. Teams like Al Hilal are already making a strong case for the title, while others like Tractor and Al Wahda continue to fight for momentum.
As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on the upcoming fixtures that could define the standings. Al Wahda will aim to convert their strong defensive displays into wins, while Tractor will need to sharpen their attack to climb higher in the table. Al Gharafa’s latest victory gives them confidence for the next games, and Al Hilal look set to continue their dominant run.
