Foreign ministers from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Pakistan have issued a joint statement supporting the latest peace initiative put forward by US President Donald J. Trump. They praised his leadership and sincere efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza, calling his plan a potential path to stability in the Middle East.
Recognition of US Role in Peace Efforts
The ministers highlighted the importance of their partnership with the United States. They welcomed Trump’s announcement of a new proposal to rebuild Gaza, prevent the displacement of Palestinian people, and advance a comprehensive peace plan. Importantly, they noted his assurance that he will not allow the annexation of the West Bank, viewing this as a key step toward restoring trust in negotiations.
Commitment to Constructive Engagement
The joint statement underlined the readiness of these nations to work closely with the United States. They committed to engaging constructively in order to finalise the agreement and ensure its full implementation. The ministers stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved if all sides show willingness to compromise and cooperate under international law.
Humanitarian Aid and Civilian Protection
A central part of the ministers’ message was the urgent need for humanitarian relief in Gaza. They called for unrestricted delivery of sufficient aid, including food, medicine, and water supplies. The joint statement also firmly rejected any forced displacement of Palestinians, noting that people must remain in their homeland under conditions of dignity and security.
Security Mechanism for All Parties
To ensure long-term stability, the ministers proposed the establishment of a strong security mechanism. This mechanism would guarantee protection for both Palestinians and Israelis, reduce the risk of future violence, and create a framework for trust-building. It was also linked to the release of hostages and a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Reconstruction and Development of Gaza
Beyond ending the war, the ministers stressed the importance of rebuilding Gaza’s destroyed infrastructure. They pointed to the need for investment in schools, hospitals, housing, and essential services. A stable and rebuilt Gaza, they argued, would prevent future instability and create hope for the younger generation.
Path Toward a Two-State Solution
The joint statement reaffirmed that a just and lasting peace must be based on a two-state solution. Under this arrangement, Gaza would be fully integrated with the West Bank into a sovereign Palestinian state. The ministers stressed that such a solution, grounded in international law, remains the cornerstone of regional peace and security.
The ministers concluded their statement by noting their shared vision for a stable, peaceful, and secure Middle East. They expressed confidence that the cooperation between their countries and the United States could open a historic opportunity to end decades of conflict. They urged all parties to approach the peace plan with seriousness and determination, placing the welfare of civilians at the heart of the process.
