The Arab Federation for Digital Economy took part in several major international events in Geneva, including the Global Forum for Digital Governance Solutions “GovTech Deep-Dive” and the “Trust Valley Day 2025”. The delegation was led by Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, who heads the Federation’s Board of Directors. During these events, participants discussed the latest global trends in digital transformation, GovTech solutions, service improvement, transparency, and future technology readiness.
The sessions, organised by the World Bank and attended by government representatives and technology experts, highlighted the need for strong partnerships between governments and the private sector. These partnerships help develop projects related to artificial intelligence, government data, digital security and institutional development. The Federation also joined the Trust Valley Day 2025 event, which focused on cybersecurity and digital trust. Startups from the “Tech4Trust” programme showcased innovative cyber solutions used across Europe.
The Federation additionally attended the GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025 awards ceremony, where the World Bank and the Swiss government celebrated innovative digital governance projects. On the sidelines, the Federation met with the World Bank to discuss cooperation on the Arab Digital Economy Index and the Arab Digital Transformation Projects Platform. The Bank praised the UAE for leading the region in digital development through its strong technological infrastructure and long-term innovation strategy.
Dr. Al-Khouri explained that the partnership with the World Bank will help improve the Arab Digital Transformation Index and make it more accurate in measuring progress across Arab countries. Both sides also explored expanding work on the digital projects platform developed with UNDP and ESCWA. This platform aims to create a unified Arab system to classify digital projects, support the Arab digital economy, and improve access to international funding.
He added that these global engagements help Arab nations learn from advanced international experiences and build strong digital systems for the future. The Union will continue working with global organisations to support Arab digital policies and promote regional integration in the digital field.
