HRH The Deputy King, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, warmly welcomed Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, the Commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), at Riffa Palace. The Admiral arrived with a delegation to further strengthen the friendly and strategic ties between Bahrain and the United States. This meeting was an important step to reinforce cooperation between the two nations in various fields, especially security, defence, and regional stability.

Prince Salman congratulated Admiral Cooper on his appointment as the new CENTCOM Commander. He wished the Admiral success in his role and expressed confidence in his leadership. This gesture reflected the longstanding friendship and mutual respect that Bahrain shares with the United States. The visit was also an opportunity to discuss ways to work together more closely for the benefit of both countries.

Strengthening Bahrain-US Strategic Partnership

During the meeting, HRH Prince Salman highlighted the strong partnership between Bahrain and the United States. He noted that this partnership is based on mutual trust, shared values, and a commitment to progress in multiple areas. The Deputy King emphasized that both nations are committed to enhancing their relationship and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

The meeting reaffirmed that the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the US is not only long-standing but also dynamic. Both sides agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen ties at all levels. By working together, Bahrain and the United States can ensure stability, security, and prosperity for the region.

Importance of Bilateral Cooperation

Prince Salman stressed that bilateral cooperation is vital for the continued growth of Bahrain-US relations. He mentioned agreements such as the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA) as key frameworks that guide cooperation in security, defence, and economic matters. These agreements create a solid foundation for close collaboration and shared planning.

Bilateral cooperation ensures that both nations can address challenges together and develop strategies that benefit their citizens. By working under these agreements, Bahrain and the United States can strengthen security, support economic growth, and create opportunities for trade and investment.

Focus on Military and Defence Coordination

HRH the Deputy King also highlighted the importance of military and defence cooperation. He said that coordinated efforts in these areas are essential to meet shared security goals. Both nations agreed that regular communication, joint planning, and collaboration in military operations are key to maintaining peace in the region.

Military and defence cooperation allows Bahrain and the United States to respond effectively to threats and to ensure stability in the Gulf region. It also provides opportunities for training, sharing expertise, and improving defence capabilities for both countries. These efforts build confidence and enhance preparedness in the face of regional challenges.

Discussing Regional and International Developments

The meeting also focused on current regional and international developments. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest, including regional security, political stability, and economic growth. The discussions helped both countries align their strategies on important issues affecting the Middle East and the wider world. The talks also provided a platform to explore new areas of collaboration that can strengthen both nations’ roles in promoting peace and security.

Role of the United States in Regional Security

HRH Prince Salman underscored the vital role that the United States plays in regional and international security. He noted that, along with allied nations, the US is a key partner in safeguarding stability and peace in the Middle East. Bahrain deeply values the support and cooperation provided by the United States in security matters.
