UAE Intercepts Missile; Debris Kills 2 in Abu Dhabi

Authorities in Abu Dhabi have confirmed casualties following an incident on Sweihan Street, where debris from a successfully intercepted ballistic missile fell, resulting in loss of life and property damage.

According to officials, two unidentified individuals were killed, while three others sustained injuries. Several vehicles were also damaged in the incident. Emergency response teams reached the site promptly and provided necessary assistance.

Air Defence Successfully Intercepts Threats

The UAE Ministry of Defence stated that its air defence systems successfully intercepted incoming ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. Authorities emphasized that the situation remains under close surveillance.

Residents have been strongly advised to rely only on official government sources for accurate information and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports.

Rising Toll Amid Ongoing Conflict

This latest incident has increased the total death toll to 11 fatalities since the escalation began. Among those killed in previous incidents are:

  • Three UAE armed forces personnel

  • Six foreign nationals, including individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Palestine

In addition, 166 people have been injured, with cases ranging from minor to critical.

Large-Scale Interceptions Reported

Authorities revealed that since the start of what they describe as “blatant aggression,” UAE air defence systems have intercepted:

  • 357 ballistic missiles

  • 15 cruise missiles

  • 1,815 UAVs

On 25 March 2026, nine UAVs were also intercepted as part of ongoing hostilities.

Authorities Urge Public Caution

Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and have reiterated their appeal to the public to:

  • Follow verified updates from official sources

  • Avoid sharing misinformation

  • Stay alert but calm
