The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) organised the Central Bank Data Leaders and Professionals Conference in Abu Dhabi under the theme, “Data – The Solid Foundation of Central Bank Operations in Times of Uncertainty.” The conference brought together senior officials from CBUAE, over 35 central banks, and international financial institutions to discuss the strategic role of data in central banking.

The conference aimed to encourage dialogue and knowledge sharing among nations, adopting global best practices to address digital and economic transformations. Participants explored ways to enhance central banks’ preparedness and agility in managing future challenges.

Ahmed Saeed Al Qamzi, Assistant Governor of Banking and Insurance Supervision at CBUAE, said the conference highlights the bank’s commitment to leveraging advanced data analytics and fostering collaboration at local, regional, and international levels. He stressed that data-driven decision-making is key to operational efficiency and achieving long-term objectives.
Advancing Data Capabilities in the UAE
CBUAE has completed the first phase of its central data management platform, supporting SupTech operations through integrated data collection, analysis, and protection. The bank strengthened its data governance framework, covering quality, risk management, and records, while accelerating AI integration. Twenty machine learning applications were developed, and over 60 pre-trained AI models evaluated, streamlining reporting and enhancing risk management.

The conference showcased the UAE’s commitment to transforming data into a strategic resource, setting benchmarks for central banks globally. By combining AI, analytics, and robust governance, CBUAE continues to lead innovation and ensure resilient and efficient financial systems.
