Cultural Ties Strengthened Between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo Museums

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, recently engaged in a significant meeting with Makoto Fujiwara, Executive Director of the Tokyo National Museum, highlighting a renewed commitment to cultural collaboration between the UAE and Japan.

The discussion centered around broadening partnerships in research, education, and professional growth within museums. Both representatives acknowledged the vital role of exchanging expertise and educational opportunities for museum professionals.

Sheikh Khaled underscored the necessity of cross-cultural dialogue for nurturing connections between nations. Initiatives such as joint exhibitions and educational programs aimed at youth, designed to unveil the cultural and civilizational heritage of the world, were also examined during their discussions.

Attendees addressed the significance of knowledge exchange, workshops for capacity-building, and collaborative exhibits as fundamental elements for enhancing cultural comprehension. Through combining efforts and knowledge, Abu Dhabi and Tokyo aspire to upgrade museum methodologies and establish enduring cultural bonds.

The meeting saw participation from high-ranking Abu Dhabi officials, including Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Saood Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi; and Rita Aoun, Executive Director of Culture at DCT Abu Dhabi, showcasing the UAE’s dedication to cultural diplomacy.

This interaction between the two cultural epicenters marks a progression in international museum cooperation, emphasizing a joint goal of heritage preservation while fostering educational exchanges.
