The Camel Racing Federation has announced the third edition of the Dhafra Camel Racing Festival, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region. The event is scheduled from 23rd to 26th October at the Camel Racing Track in Zayed City, Al Dhafra.
The festival aims to preserve the nation’s cultural traditions, inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Supported by the UAE leadership, the event reinforces the importance of camel racing as a key part of Emirati heritage and a symbol of community pride.
The festival will feature 100 camel races in the Haqayiq, Lagayya, and Ezaa categories. Each category includes eight symbols, with participants competing for valuable cash and in-kind prizes. This extensive racing program ensures high competition and entertainment for attendees.
Following the success of the previous two editions, a large turnout of local and international camel owners and riders is expected. The festival continues to attract enthusiasts from across the region, highlighting its growing reputation as a premier sporting and cultural event.
Beyond competition, the festival provides a platform for community engagement and promotes awareness of UAE traditions. Families, tourists, and camel racing fans will experience a lively celebration combining sport, heritage, and cultural pride.
The Dhafra Camel Racing Festival is set to strengthen the UAE’s position as a hub for traditional sports. Its continued success reflects the commitment of the Camel Racing Federation and the leadership to preserving Emirati customs while fostering community participation.
