The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has successfully expanded its trade missions to 20 countries across Asia and Africa. This major step comes under the “New Horizons” initiative, launched in early 2023 to help Dubai-based companies reach new international markets and boost the city’s global trade influence.
Salem Alshamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chamber, said that the initiative aims to enhance Dubai’s economic competitiveness in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the Dubai Global initiative. Both these programs seek to support companies in Dubai by connecting them with 30 key global markets that have high growth potential.
Alshamsi explained that Dubai provides an exceptional environment for businesses looking to grow internationally. The emirate’s strong infrastructure, strategic location, and world-class connectivity make it an ideal base for companies aiming to expand globally. He highlighted that the Chamber’s recent mission to Georgia offered valuable opportunities for Dubai-based companies to explore the Georgian market.
He added that several meetings were held between Emirati and Georgian companies to explore cooperation and partnership opportunities. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Georgia reached US$761 million by the end of 2024, which represents a growth of more than 58 percent compared to the previous year. This rise reflects the growing strength of economic ties between the two sides.
Alshamsi revealed that as of June 2025, a total of 114 active Georgian companies are registered with the Dubai Chamber. Among these, 16 new members joined during the first half of 2025. This steady growth indicates rising investor confidence in Dubai’s business environment and the expanding role of Georgian enterprises in the city’s economy.
The trade mission to Georgia included 15 Dubai-based companies from various industries. These businesses explored new opportunities, partnerships, and market entry options in Georgia’s rapidly developing economy. According to Alshamsi, Georgia’s strategic location, open economy, and business-friendly policies make it an attractive destination for Dubai investors who want to expand internationally.
The New Horizons initiative has become a key driver of international expansion for member companies of the Dubai Chamber. Through workshops, trade missions, and global partnerships, it helps businesses identify new opportunities and understand international market trends. The program also provides valuable insights and connections that enable Dubai firms to grow beyond regional boundaries and succeed on a global scale.
By expanding trade missions under the New Horizons initiative, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce is helping achieve Dubai’s long-term goal of becoming one of the world’s top global business hubs. The initiative reflects the leadership’s vision to empower local companies, build strong international ties, and strengthen Dubai’s role in global trade and investment.
The Chamber remains committed to creating more opportunities for Dubai’s private sector by organizing future trade missions, strengthening partnerships, and supporting economic growth in multiple regions around the world.
