Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, visited Dubai Schools – Al Khawaneej campus to review measures to strengthen Dubai as an education hub and examine the Knowledge Fund Establishment’s strategic plans. During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan toured classrooms and observed students focusing on their lessons, emphasising that people are at the heart of Dubai’s pioneering educational system. His Highness highlighted that the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum prioritises investment in education and human capital as a key pillar of Dubai’s development.

Sheikh Hamdan noted that the Dubai education system aims to shape the future by developing leaders and innovators, instilling national values, and preparing students for global competitiveness. He stressed the importance of the public-private partnership model, which strengthens human capital and contributes to a knowledge-based society and creative economy. The Crown Prince was accompanied by key officials from the Executive Council and Knowledge Fund Establishment, including Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti and Ahmad AbdulKarim Julfar.

Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO of the Knowledge Fund Establishment, presented achievements in building an integrated educational system aligned with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Education Strategy 2033. He highlighted that Dubai Schools operate across three campuses in Nad Al Sheba, Al Khawaneej, and Al Barsha, offering high-quality education, national values, and future-ready skills. Total investment has grown from AED 62 million in 2021 to AED 1 billion in 2025, with projections reaching AED 4 billion by 2033. Student enrollment has increased from 1,200 to 4,515, with expectations of 15,000 by 2033, and an exceptional 99 percent re-enrolment rate reflects parental satisfaction and institutional excellence.

Dubai Schools also showcases successful collaboration between the public and private sectors, with leading national institutions supporting tuition sponsorships and ensuring access to quality education for various community segments. Partners include Dubai Islamic Bank, DAMAC, Emirates Islamic Bank, Emaar, DP World, Dubai Duty Free, and others. Launched by Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai Schools represents a key pillar of Dubai’s educational landscape, combining academic leadership, national identity, and institutional innovation to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global knowledge and innovation hub.
