Emirates is embarking on a mission to elevate the inflight experience with the introduction of Starlink Wi-Fi throughout its full operational fleet. The initial rollout will begin with Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025, with plans for completion by mid-2027, allowing passengers to enjoy ultra-fast internet comparable to ground connectivity while cruising.
Travelers will have the ability to stream films, engage in online gaming, make phone calls, and work effortlessly on both personal devices and in-flight screens. Each month, approximately 14 aircraft will be outfitted, facilitating rapid deployment across the airline's expansive fleet of 232 jets. Installation on the Airbus A380s is slated to commence in February 2026.
Each Boeing 777 will come equipped with two Starlink antennas, while the Airbus A380 will feature a groundbreaking three-antenna system for comprehensive coverage and improved connectivity in all cabin classes. Live television services via Starlink will initially launch on personal devices, extending to seatback screens by late December 2025.
This Wi-Fi service will be entirely free of charge for passengers, featuring straightforward one-click access without any fees or special memberships needed. Emirates has already installed this system on its introductory Boeing 777-300ER, A6-EPF, showcased at the Dubai Airshow, giving visitors a firsthand look at the potential for high-speed connectivity on the ground.
This new initiative aligns with Emirates’ broader cabin refurbishment strategy, which includes the introduction of Premium Economy seating, enhancements to Business and First Class, and updated entertainment systems, guaranteeing a consistent high-quality experience across all of its flight routes and aircraft.
This strategic move positions Emirates as a leader in inflight connectivity, providing travelers with reliable internet access, boosting productivity, and enhancing entertainment options throughout their journeys.
